We're getting patriotic for St George's Day this year, being the year of the Olympics and all that. We'll be holding a mini real ale festival from Friday 20th to Monday 23rd April, with a very cool taster board featuring three of 1/3 of a pint of our best English local ales for £3.25.
This will include Tring Brewery's infamous Death or Glory - a 7.2% monster with official endorsement from the Queen's Royal Lancers Regiment, only available while stocks last!
We'll also have two guest ciders available, Weston's Raspberry Twist and Weston's Perry.
Our specials menu will also be donning the English flag with some great traditional dishes for you to try across the St George's weekend.

Treat your mother this year with a tasty champagne breakfast at The Akeman, available until 11am. A choice of bacon, smoked salmon or mushrooms with scrambled eggs and toast accompanied with a glass of Henriot Brut, the perfect way to start the day.
We also have a special three course set menu available for £24.95 including a complimentary glass of Prosecco for all mums, for lunch. For dinner, we will be running our normal menu and Sunday Roast will also be available, but book early to avoid disappointment.

Need an excuse to drink wine? Here's an excellent one - we are holding a wine tasting evening on Thursday 26th January, 7-9pm. Sample a selection of wines, including red, white, rose and Prosecco, and some tasty canapes to round it off and beat away those winter blues. Tickets are £15, available to purchase in advance.

The Akeman has been Highly Commended as an all day dining pub at the Great British Pub Food Awards!
Shortlisted as one of three finalists out of hundreds of national entries, The Akeman received the commendation at the London awards ceremony in the All Day Dining Pub of the Year category.

The Akeman has recently been crowned Tring’s Top Restaurant by the Tring People poll, further fortifying its strong position within the local community.
The online poll, which has been running for the past month, saw The Akeman receive 61% of the votes, an enormous 48% higher than the restaurant in second position which received just 13% of the votes.
Despite new competition from High Street chain restaurant Prezzo, The Akeman is continuing to prove a popular choice for local residents and visitors from further afield, demonstrated by the voters who selected The Akeman as their preferred restaurant.

It's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and The Akeman has teamed up with Totality Day Spa in Tring to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care.

The Akeman paid tribute to a fantastically-successful fashion show in the first week of July, raising approximately £1250 for Breast Cancer Care.
The In the Pink fashion show, held in collaboration with local fashion boutiques Tribe and Fuse, saw 100 enthusiastic ladies treat themselves to a three course meal and plenty of catwalk action, flushed down with plenty of appropriately pink wine.
