BerkoFest 2012 is Berkhamsted's hottest event of the year, celebrating the 2012 festival season with a bang. This brand new music and comedy festival is taking place at Berkhamsted Sports Club on Saturday 15th September, 10am-11pm, and it's going to be huge!

You can buy your tickets for Berkofest here at The Akeman. Our sister pub the Kings Arms in Berkhamsted is also a sponsor, and will be serving up the famous Kings Arms burgers along with a wine and champagne bar, so you can celebrate in style.

Designed to bring a genuine mix of quality music and comedy to people in and around the Berkhamsted area, BerkoFest is set in the stunning eight acre location of Berkhamsted Sports Club. Providing an array of entertainment for all, there will be four stages comprising high profile acts on the main stage, a talented acoustic stage set up, an original comedy show, and an improvised ‘Open Mic ’ stage performance, along with a whole host of other attractions!

Headline acts include:

Seth Lakeman, the English folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with raw talent. His recent album “Tales from the Barrel House” was released nationally in April 2012.

Showaddywaddy - renowned for their retro-inspired rock & roll, and ‘truly live and kicking’ performances that bring your dancing feet alive!

Glenn Tilbrook, part of the successful band “Squeeze”, a superb singer-songwriter who immerses music with the audience by regularly performing requests, encouraging a relaxed, impromptu feel.

Rowland Rivron as main stage compare - his charisma as British comedian and musician recently won him the 'Let’s Dance for Sport Relief' title with a lively routine performed to Fatboy Slim’s 'Weapon of Choice'.

The Crookes - the indie band from Sheffield with musical genius and flair, rated highly amongst teenagers and students for their fresh approach to music.

Mitch Benn is comparing for BerkoFest, with his hilarious stand–up comedy and most famous for his “humorous” songs performed on BBC radio.

Local musicians to thrill the audience will include: Shane Lamont, hosting the ‘ Open Mic ‘ stage; the acclaimed Tom Billington and the talented young musician Henry Parker.

With families primarily in mind, BerkoFest has arranged an interesting mix of child entertainment including the Panic Circus; a family- friendly, traditional circus (no animals), with a varied programme of fun performances, workshops, and activities .

For some timely pampering, BerkoFest has organised a team of professional therapists who specialise in luxury treatments, to indulge your mind, body and well being. Ideal for some mellow space away from the hubbub of activity going on elsewhere.
