At Oakman Inns & Restaurants, we are always keen to meet positive, friendly, genuine, and focused individuals. To us, these are the basic qualities for working in this environment. Previous experience is important for many of the job roles but if you are the right person for the job, it’s not essential.

We believe that talent and dedication should be rewarded and so have a strong culture of promoting from within. From our original team, we have several front of house staff that have progressed onto supervisory and management positions. Likewise, in the kitchen, many of our chefs have seen their roles grow as suitable positions become available.

If you like what you see, then apply in one of the following ways:

  • You'll need to be over 18 if you are applying for a role that involves serving customers. If you are aged between 16 and 18 we still have other jobs you will enjoy!
  • The best way to catch our attention is to send your CV together with an application form, to us via post or email. Always ensure your CV is up to date and all relevant experience is mentioned.
  • Include a covering letter. This will give us more of an idea about you and also gives you the chance to add in the extra bits!
  • Look out for the “recruiting” banners on our website, which will let you know when we're putting a team together for a new opening.
  • We advertise specific roles within our existing pubs and restaurants.
  • If you'd like to work at a pub or restaurant near you, then we're happy to hear from you and will keep your details until a suitable position comes up.

Anna Wood

Anna Wood Commercial Manager

Anna started working for Peter at Forno Vivo in 2002, just after it opened. Despite studying Graphic Design at University in Leeds, the pull of the restaurant trade just proved too much and after a brief spell working in London, Anna became Assistant Manager at Forno Vivo in 2004.

After Peter sold Forno Vivo, Anna was approached by The Gatsby and became their Deputy Manager. However, before long Oakman Inns and Restaurant was born and Anna came back to work with Peter and used her wealth of experience as part of the ‘set up’ team in August 2007, alongside Raff Mercurio. Anna is now an official workaholic as Oakman Inns & Restaurants Commercial Manager but absolutely loves her job.

She has huge passion for good quality, especially in food, drink and shoes! She currently lives in Tring with her other huge passion – her fiancée James, who she is marrying in October this year.

Her aim in her work life is to reach Director level, and we know she will do it!
